Biographies
Lew Eads
Lew Eads and his wife Pat Burke have lived in
Franklin for 17 years. During this time, both have been
active members of the community as members of FCA and
the Franklin Historical Society. They were among the
original members of the Kreger Team and helped to
relocate and preserve these historic buildings. Also,
they have been active supporters of the Franklin
Library, Music on the Green, and MainStreet Franklin.
Lew has served Franklin Village for the last 5 years as
Deputy Treasurer and for 4 years as the Village's
representative to the Birmingham Area Cable Board.
Following the untimely passing of Mark Jahnke, Lew was
appointed as Trustee and was re-elected in this year's
election.
Outside of Village life, Lew is a graduate of Purdue
University with a degree from the Krannert School of
Management. He is a General Motors retiree, where he was
Advertising Manage for Chevrolet. He also established a
successful marketing consulting firm after leaving GM.
He and Pat have two sons and two daughters and three
grandchildren. When not playing with the grandkids or
traveling, Lew most likely can be found on a golf
course.
Pam Hansen
Pam Hansen has lived in Franklin for 19 years.
She has a strong commitment to community building,
having served as a member of the Planning Commission since
2004 and chairing it since 2009. She was also
Planning Commission liaison to the Main Street Franklin
Board and worked to find ways to encourage private-public
partnerships to revitalize the historic central
commercial district, a key objective of the 2006 Master
Plan. Prior to that Pam served on the FCA Board
for a number of years.
Her business, ResilienceInc., assists organizations
execute their business strategy by helping them
strengthen their capabilities to collaborate,
communicate, solve problems and manage performance.
She has a MBA from St. Thomas University in St. Paul,
Minnesota and a MS in Organization Development from
Pepperdine University in California. Her
professional memberships include Michigan Council of
Women in Technology, Women Officials Network of Oakland
County and the HR Assocation of Greater Detroit.
Pam has 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren and while
she misses them greatly, she loves visiting South
Florida and California when she can.
Jim Kochensparger
Jim has lived in the Village of Franklin for 29
years. He is married to Ruth and their son Jonathan
attends Birmingham public schools. He was elected to
Village Council two years ago where he served as Trustee
and President pro-tem; he was recently elected Village
President for a four year term. Jim has been a
Franklin-Bingham Farms volunteer Firefighter for 24
years in addition to serving 10 years on the Fire
Commission and as the Treasurer. Some of Jim’s other
community contributions are FCA member, supporter of
Music on the Green and a Main Street Franklin board
member. Jim’s has extensive Franklin Village public
works experience dating back to 1993 which gives him
practical insight into the village infrastructure. His
education includes an associate’s degree in liberal arts
from Oakland Community College, State Certification of
Fire Fighting and multiple other certifications in
emergency response. Jim’s professional career is
owner/operator of GreenScapes Inc. – a commercial and
residential landscape maintenance company as well as
owner of the Franklin Grill in the downtown historic
district.
Tom Morrow
Tom and his wife Eva have been residents of Franklin
for 9 years. He has served as Village Treasurer for the
past 6 years. Eva is a successful realtor for Max Brook.
Tom is a Managing Director for AlixPartners where he helps
corporate clients through financial crisis. Tom earned
a BBA from University of Michigan and an MBA from the
University of Chicago.
Steve Rosenthal
Steve works for Rock Companies and has leadership
responsibility for operations, acquistions, underwriting
and finance, and manages the establishment and
implementation of governing policies and procedures
companywide. In addition, he maintains functional
responsibilility for monitoring company budgets, cost
management and top line revenue growth.
Steve's professional memberships include the National
Apartment Association and National Association of Home
Builders. Steve has a strong commitment to
community affairs, serving on the board of the Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, an active
participant in the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and a
board member of the Franklin Baseball Organization.
Michael Seltzer
Michael Seltzer moved to Franklin in 1995 and became
a member of the Franklin Community Association. He moved
into the Presidency and continued in that position for
eleven years - the longest servicing FCA President in
its' history. Michael lives with his wife Lori in their
historic home known as Franklin House, circa 1840 and is
a proud member of the community continuing to serve as a
Village trustee since being appointed to fill the
position vacated by Alan Harnisch upon his departure in
2010. Mr. Seltzer is a lifetime member of the Adcraft
Club and owner of SKM Inc., a marketing and publishing
company he founded nearly 30 years ago. Mr. Seltzer has
two children, Justin, 27 who lives in West Hollywood CA
and is a Senior Account Manager for eprize, LA and
daughter Kaitlyn, 24, a registered nurse who lives in
Ann Arbor, MI.
Sherry Sparks
Sherry Sparks is an education and business
consultant, speaker, and trainer. Her degrees include a
BA, Masters Degree, and an Education Specialist Degree
in Administration and Leadership. Sherry consults
locally and nationally on gifted and talented related
topics, school improvement, staff development,
entrepreneurship, systems and structural dynamics,
leadership, and organization development. Sherry’s
leadership business, MightyMindz, Inc., cultivates,
inspires, and grooms high ability and gifted and
talented children, youth, and adults for influential
roles and achievements in their areas of interest and
passion.
