Village Elections
A regular Municipal Election is held in September of
every odd year. The President and Trustees shall
be elected on a non-partisan ticket from the Village of
Franklin at large and be subject to recall. The
President is elected for a four-year term; six trustees
are elected for four year terms with three trustees
running on every other odd-numbered year ballot.
Persons interested in running for Village Council must
be registered to vote and must submit nominating
petitions as required by law. Petitions may not contain
less than 15 valid signatures. The submission deadline
is the Tuesday 12 weeks prior to the September election
date by 4:00 pm. No person shall be eligible to the
office of President or Trustee who is not 25 years old
and has been a resident of Franklin for at least two (2)
year prior to the last day for submitting petitions for
office.
The Village Clerk position is also elected, for a
two-year term. Persons interested in running for
Clerk must be registered to vote and must submit
nominating peitions as required and noted above.
The Library Board positions are also elected, for
six-year terms. Persons interested in running for
the Library Board Director positions must be resiterd to
vote and must submit nominating petitions as required
and noted above.
